Mu Shu Pork

And you thought Mu Shu was a whale right?

Forgiving the Futurama connection Mu Shu is an awesome tasting, fast food option for the healthy minded.

Ingredients;

1lb (500 g) of lean minced pork.
2-3 crushed garlic cloves.
2 teaspoons of fresh grated ginger or ground ginger.
5-6 tablespoons of light soy sauce.
3-4 tablespoons of oyster sauce.
2 tablespoons of Shaoxing rice wine (or any cooking wine/ dry sherry)
1 medium carrot cut into thin sticks.
1 red pepper de-seeded and thinly sliced (into sticks)
100 g of button mushrooms thinly sliced (you can use shiitake if you can find them)
6 spring onions diagonally sliced.
200 g of Chinese cabbage.
2 teaspoons of cooking oil (sesame preferred).

Method;

1. Stir fry the pork in a hot wok that has been lightly oiled (I use a spray) for 3 or 4 minutes until nice and brown stirring constantly to break it up then pop it in a bowl and add the soy/ oyster and wine.

2. Give the wok a quick clean and spray lightly again with oil. Add all the vegetables, ginger and garlic and stir fry for 4 to 5 minutes or until the veg has softened then add the pork and stir fry for another 2 to 3 minutes.

3. Serve immediately. You can garnish this dish with a few chopped spring onions and a large helping of Tsing Tao beer!

VERY quick meal to make and very easy to remember. You can replace the veg with any that you prefer and it will still taste great.

Bon apetit!
